The Senate Tourism met a representatives of the Jordan Hotels Association and Jordan Inbound Tour Operators Association

The Chairman of the tourism and Heritage Committee of the Jordanian Senate, Eng. Abdul-Hakeem Mahmoud Al-Hindi, has met the Board Members of the Jordan Hotels Association, the Chairman of the Jordan Inbound Tour Operators Association, Ms. Ghada Al- Najjar, and its Members.

The Senator said: ” this meeting came to follow up the challenges and demands of the sector, in order to overcome the obstacles facing it and develop and promote it, stressing the importance of activating the principle of partnership between the public and private sectors.

The Senator pointed out that the committee will work to raise the challenges through the presidency of the Jordanian Senate to the executive authority, and push towards addressing them in order to support the tourism sector in all its forms.

The representatives of the associations presented the most challenges that stand in the way of improvement and development of the sector, of which the regional competition with neighboring countries is the foremost of it, through the turnover of trained employees due to emigration abroad.
Also, they pointed out that the financial obstacles are represented by the need to refer to the sustainability program in Social Security for the year 2024, under the current emergency conditions, calling for a review of the legislation governing the sector in order to overcome obstacles and address the challenges of the tourism sector.

On the other hand, the members of the senate tourism, state about the importance of holding an expanded consultative meeting, which includes all competent authorities in the tourism sector to consider the challenges and networking between the public and private sectors.
The meeting was attended by Jamal Al-khuraisha, Ahmad tabishat, Salim Khair, Khalid Abu al-Ezz, Mohammed Al-azaida, Khairuddin hakoz, Abdullah Matar, Zuhair Abu Fares, Maysoon al-Atum, Maha Al-Bahoo, as well as the board members of the Jordan Hotels Association, Mr. Hussein al-hilalat, Eng. Ayman Rashid, Eng. May Sammour. and the general manager of the association, Mr. Mustafa kawash, and the expat Tourism Association, Arwa mahadin, Mohammed Samih, and Yasar Malhas.
